01.29.09 LCS Hockey Radio Show

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton beat writer Jonathan Bombulie joined us in the first hour to talk about the NHL All-Star Game, the Baby Pens, and the Match Game. The Ed tried his hand at some Super Bowl Trivia, but the main event was Larry vs Cousin Brandon in "Road House" trivia. And Brandon had a surprise tag team partner in his cousin, Dave Dameshek. But BlogTalk strikes again and cuts off the final few minutes of the show. I guess we'll never know who won...

Our pal Dave Dameshek now has a page over at the ESPN 1250 web site. That's the local Pittsburgh station. It would help The Dave if we all visited the page and downloaded his podcasts and whatnot. Don't forget to sign up for his podcast through iTunes, either. And remember, it's all about the kids. Thank you.

The All-Star Game was once again a crime against humanity, with the East prevailing in a shootout, 12-11. But at least Alexei Kovalev made it fun.

Not every All-Star Skills Competition is stupid. Some are gay. This one was both.

Hardly breaking news, I know, but it bears repeating.

01.24.09 LCS Hockey Radio Show

Our FTP server was down for a few days, so here are the links to the radio shows. We talked about the All-Star festivities, got a visit from The Ed, and then we reviewed "Iron Man" and "The Wrestler." We capped things off with Top 11 Wrestling Tag Teams.

01.24.09 The Ed Show

The Ed yapped for 90 minutes and only took three calls. That's a whole lot of Ed. The highlight is a beautiful "Grease" medley.

The New York Rangers are still near the top of the Atlantic. But those days could be solid gone soon enough.

Our pal The Ed took calls from his many fans, including the lovely Joanna, Vijay from Australia, and Irv the Security Guy.

We actually talked some hockey, discussing the Pens-Caps, Brian Elliott taking charge in Ottawa, and the Vincent Lecavalier trade rumors. The Ed stopped by to call the Super Bowl matchup, thank us for sending him a swell prize package, and give us some inside info on Chris Tucker. Then Cousin Brandon showed up, reviewing "Man on Wire" before battling Larry in "Karate Kid" trivia. Larry-san ain't no joke. Brandon, what's wrong? Why'd you throw your bike away!

01.09.09 The Ed Show

It was trivia night on The Ed Show, as our pal The Ed took calls from his many fans, including Colts quarterback Jim Sorgi, and tested their NFL knowledge. And The Ed went a full 90 minutes. Could this be in preparation for the 12-hour Ed-athon? Stay tuned.

The Pens signed Staal, the All-Sar Game still sucks, and Rick Nash had a conference call.

Puck Daddy himself, Greg Wyshynski, was kind enough to visit the show, talking hockey and the upcoming G.I. Joe movie. The Ed made his football picks and updated everyone on his Super Deluxe Hockey Game. And then we went Around BlogTalk with Illin' and Grillin' and Rob Van Dam. But Cousin Brandon never showed for the Karate Kid trivia. I hope he didn't fall victim to the Cobra Kai.

Well, the Pens lost again. But if you want to see some real hockey, check out the photos from our annual charity event, the Happy Birthday Baby Jesus Tournament. The Greensburg Picayune, our local newspaper, usually writes a story about it, but there was an "incident." Let's just leave it at that.

There's a malodorous stench emanating from Pittsburgh these days, and it's not the Pirates. The Penguins stink. Seriously, if they crawled under a freshly painted fence, Pepe Le Pew would try and bed them. It's shameful.

Sidney Crosby and Alexander Semin both dropped the gloves this weekend. Kid Crosby ragdolled Brett McLean; meanwhile, Semin proved he probably spent a lot of his childhood playing with dolls.

01.02.09 The Ed Show

I'll get back to writing about the hockey on Monday, but in the meantime, enjoy another edition of The Ed Show. Our pal The Ed took calls from his adoring fans and talked about how his buddy Honky White Sucker makes his own teeth.
